is on the way and will go on sale next year, but it will be shown in late 2013. Audi is already letting slip a few details about the car.

. To continue its role as the VW GTI with a doctorate, the base engines for the TT will be shared with the next generation GTD and GTI. That means the newest 2.0 TSI engine with 220hp and a 2.0 TDI with 180hp.

is still murky. It might get a new five-cylinder or perhaps something else.
The biggest change to the new TT will be its weight. While the MQB platform offers weight savings itself, the body will be made from aluminum. The complete weight savings should be around 60kg (132lb), enough to drop the curb weight of base models to 1,200kg (2,646lb).
MQB also moves the front wheels forward, while the engine stays static. It will mean better weight distribution for the new car.
For the looks, Audi plans to make the new car much more aggressive. Except narrow, squinting headlights and a three-dimensional grill. As in the past generations, both a coupe and convertible will be offered.
The interior will stay mostly the same with lots of leather and aluminum, but a large touchscreen infotainment system will also be added.
