model.
The Qoros 3 Hatch rides on the same platform as the Qoros 3 Sedan, and it is being marketed to appeal more to European buyers. The wheelbase, width and height are the same as the 3 Sedan, but the overall length is reduced by 177mm. The front end styling of the 3 Hatch is nearly identical to the sedan, and the only major change is grafting on a hatchback in the rear, rather than trunk. The front grill, bumper and fog lights have been reshaped to be bolder and appeal to younger buyers.
“The new Qoros 3 Hatch will appeal to the modern metropolitan always-connected customer who needs a little extra versatility provided by the hatchback body style," said Qoros Vice Chairman Volker Steinwascher.
The interior is shared with the 3 Sedan but with new upholstery and color combinations available. It still gets Qoros’ 8in touchscreen infotainment system with multi-touch capability. Most models will come with QorosQloud, the company’s in-car 3G connectivity platform.
The engine is also shared with the sedan with Qoros’ 1.6-liter naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines and either a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic.
The Qoros 3 Hatch will be built on the same assembly line as the sedan in Changshu, China.
