Sergio Perez Not Held Back by Last Year's Accident

Perez had a major crash at Monaco during qualifying last year

Sergio Perez is not letting his crash at the Monaco Grand Prix last year affect his performance this year

"After as big an accident as last year, it's not easy. But I'm looking forward to getting back on this track and to recover well and fight for position and for every single tenth," said Perez.

Perez has not been letting the crash effect him. He was third fastest in the first practice session on Thursday and 15th fastest in the second session in his Sauber C31C31Sauber C31Switzerland, 2012 > 201211 photos

The track has been modified with the barrier that Perez hit moved back 14.6m.

"It's important that we consider every accident we have to get more experience. It's a positive change," said Perez.

Perez had a crash last year in qualifying when he slid into a barrier. It caused him to miss the race and the next race in Montreal.
