The Spookiest Roads on Earth

It's Halloween time and Autoviva has decided to go searching for the Spookiest Roads on Earth. We have found some good specimens with ghosts and monsters of all kind that will definitely be able to give you the chills and scare the hell out of you.

If you want to adventure yourself in these roads this might be the right time of the year. With a nice dose of Trick or Treating you can even find the time to make fun of one your jittery friends and scare him enough to give him a whole month of nightmares. But beware not to taste your own medicine and have to face the real creatures of the underworld...

Don't say we didn't warn you...HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Dead Man's Curve - USA

Hitchhikers are some of the most famous categories of ghosts usually spotted in roads. In Dead Man's Curve there seems to be a faceless hitchhiker ever since five teenagers died there back in 1969 when their 1968 Impala was hit by a 1969 Roadrunner. Do you dare to give him a ride?

M6 Motorway - England

Along the 370km and 6 lanes of the M6 Motorway in England there seems to be a whole lot of paranormal activity. Roman soldiers marching, an upset woman trying to hitch a ride, and lorry going the wrong way down the road. This motorway clearly seems the right place to go if you want to celebrate Halloween the proper way.

Tuen Mun Road - Hong Kong

People in Hong Kong have long waited for a redesign of the Tuen Mun Road which is heavily used. However this is not the biggest of issues drivers have to face. The place seems to be filled with ghosts, spirits and poltergeists who like to throw themselves in front of your car scaring the hell out of you. Be careful with "suicidal pedestrians"!

Belchen Tunnel - Switzerland

When you're driving a road getting spooked by what may be a ghost or other supernatural can be really terrifying. Imagine yourself driving inside a tunnel like the 3.2km-long Belchen Tunnel in Switzerland, and finding an old lady asking for a ride. The old lady may seem normal to you...but wait until she vanishes into thin air... Spooky enough for you?

A229 - England

Bride ghosts can be one of the hot favorites for anyone searching for a Halloween costume. Maybe they got inspired by the A229 sighting of what may be the spirit a woman named Judith Langham, who was killed on the road on her wedding day in 1965. Wait until she gets in front of your car and then disappears while you try everything not to hit her. Scary enough?

Route 666 - USA

The Number of the Beast may come to your mind when you're driving along Route 666. This Highway has scared the hell out of drivers with burning trucks, packs of demon dogs, unwanted and unexpected passengers or little girls vanishing in thin air. Some people say “Drive Route 666 at night, and you drive at your own risk,” but to some this may become a challenge.

E8 Expressway - Malaysia

If you're one of those people that is always having nightmares about monsters, vampires or other beasts, maybe you shouldn't drive along the E8 Expressway in Malaysia. It is reported as being one of the most haunted roads in Malaysia. Many people report seeing strange creatures and Pontianak (vampiric ghost) on the road. If you drive there...be prepared!

Sintra Road - Portugal

An urban legend has been created around a video about the road to the Portuguese village of Sintra. In 1983 a girl by the name of Teresa Fidalgo had a car accident on that road and has been haunting it ever since. The girl has supposedly been caught on tape by three youngsters that would suffer an accident on the same spot. Gives you the creeps, uh?!

A75 Kinmont Straight - Scotland

Also known as Ghost it has been the scene of numerous hauntings for over fifty years. The frequency of strange activity reports is so big that it is considered Scotland’s most haunted road and has received hundreds of reports of unexplained sightings. In 1957 a truck driver saw a couple walking in front of his truck and he thought he'd hit them but he never found a thing.

Clinton Road - USA

The isolated stretch of Clinton Road is a popular spot for local teenagers looking for some late night thrills. From Klu Klux Klan meetings and satanic rituals to murders, if anyone is foolish enough to travel there late at night, it was also the favorite drop spot of bodies from mafia hitman Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski. The place has plenty to offer for anyone who needs a good scare!
