. It only represents a 5hp boost over the current top Giulietta, but it will also get the six-speed dual-clutch transmission from the 4C. No manual transmission will be available.
While the engine is mechanically similar to the current 1750cc turbo engine, it has extra boost to increase power and uses more aluminum to lower the engine’s weight.
The extra power, new transmission and slight weight loss will trim the Cloverleaf from its current 6.8 seconds to 100km/h to around 6.5 seconds for the sprint.
The change also benefits Alfa Romeo by giving it better economies of scale and lowering its manufacturing costs on the engine and transmission.
