Officine Meccaniche (OM) was established in 1899, in Milan, Italy, under the name Societa Anonima Officine Meccaniche, resulting from a merger between Grondona Comi & C and Miani Silvestri & C. The first OM passenger car was launched in 1918. In 1938 the Company was bought by Fiat. In 1939 production of passenger cars was discontinued, the Company keeping in the car industry with commercial vehicles. In 1975 the Company was merged with IVECO.
