Otosan (Otomotiv Sanayii A.S.) was founded in Kocaeli, Turkey, in 1959, through a joint-venture between Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding, to produce Automobiles and light commercial vehicles under Ford’s license. The first cars were launched in 1965. Otosan was the first Turkish mass production car builder and is still one of the largest automobiles manufacturers in Turkey.
