The Peugeot 406 was introduced in 1995 as sedan, estate and coupé. It succeeded the 405 and shared a platform with the Citroën Xantia. The 406's design was strongly reminiscent of its predecessor, but only the coupé was conceived by the Italian Pininfarina studio.
