The Porsche Panamera is a four-door, four-seat luxury sedan. The car is characterized by a coupe profile and a rear hatch. It has a front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive as standard with optional four-wheel drive. The Porsche Panamera production model premiered at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in 2009.
The lineup includes the Panamera base model, Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo. In early 2011 a hybrid variation, the Panamera S Hybrid, was presented.
Within the first year of production, until September 2010, Porsche had already manufactured over 25,000 Panameras. The model is most popular in the United States and the best-selling version of the range is the Panamera 4S.
