about:

First unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show the Nissan Qashqai, known as Nissan Dualis in Japan and Australia is a compact crossover SUV sold by the Japanese manufacturer since 2007.

The Qashqai is the first model to be styled by Nissan Design Europe in London, with engineering development led by Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire. Since December 2006 the Qashqai is built at Nissan's NMUK Sunderland, Tyne and Wear plant.

In 2008 Nissan launched a seven-passenger version of the Qashqai, called "Qashqai+2". This is a larger variant of the standard model with its wheelbase being extended by 135mm. The Qashqai+2 is 211mm longer thant the standard model in order to allow a third row of seats.

In 2011, four years after the start of its production, the Qashqai reached the 1.000.000 sales worldwide.
