Qvale Modena Company was founded by Bruce Qvale (son of Kjell Qvale) in Modena, Italy in 2000 , as a result of a partnership with Alejandro de Tomaso, owner of the rights to De Tomaso Mangusta automobiles. The partnership with de Tomaso failed and the cars produced by Qvale were branded Qvale Mangusta . Qvale Mangustas were sports cars that were mostly exported to the USA. Due to financial difficulties the company and the rights to the brand were sold to MG Rover Group in 2003.
