In September 1967, the Renault 4 got a facelift: the small radiator grille was swapped out for a wider radiator grille that encased the headlamps. The diamond shifted to the right and the bumpers changed shape yet again.

The Renault 4 added a speed, stepping up to a four-speed gearbox.
