Unveiled in the autumn of 1995, the Mégane was launched as a replacement of the Renault 19. The Mégane continued to share with the Renault 19 the platform, engines, transmissions and chassis design, although they received some modifications.
The Renault Mégane is related to the Renault Scénic, a model which is based on the Mégane’s platform.
