about this car

The UC?, acronym for Urban Commuter, is a small two-seater city car that is powered by an electric engine. With only 2.60 meters of length the UC? was developed to avoid traffic jams in major cities. With the UC vehicle, the Swiss brand created not only a car but a whole mobility concept. The UC? is prepared for an advanced railcar loading system that would add the option of traveling by train in long distance trips. This new mobility concept represents an integration of individual car ownership and public transportation.

The electric engine that powers the UC? concept produces 130 Nm of torque and reaches a top speed of 120 km/h. With statistics showing that in Europe 82 percent of all trips cover distances of less than 60 kilometers, the 105 kilometers of range of the UC? is sufficient for daily basis usage.

One of the main features of the Rinspeed UC? is the absence of the steering wheel that in this case is substituted by a force-feedback joystick.
