The recently defunct Saleen make was an American producer of high-performance vehicles and components. The company operated since 1983 until just recently, ceasing operations in 2009. Saleen was initially established at Irvine, California, but later had its headquarters moved to Troy, Michigan.
Most of the sophisticated sports cars produced at Saleen’s facilities were actually highly uptuned versions of already existing vehicles. The result was limited edition high performance automobiles with the Saleen badge.
