United States of America (1985 - present)

Founded in 1985, Saturn was created as a subsidiary of General Motors. It was the north-American corporation response to the success that the imported small cars were having in the United States of America. The first model, the Saturn S-Series, which was launched in 1991, was very successful. Due to financial problems that GM as been struggling with, the company announced that Saturn will be sold to Penske Automotive Group.
