Sauber is a constructor founded in 1970 by Peter Sauber. The cars where first used for hillclimbing and other races but in 1993, the team debuted in the Formula One Championship. In 2005, the team was sold to BMW but five years later, Peter Sauber bought it back. The team’s best result was a fourth place in the constructor champion in 2001.
