Debuting at the 2008 Paris Motor Show the Seat Exeo is a five-seat large family car, and flagship model of the the Spanish car manufacturer, and Volkswagen Group subsidiary SEAT, S.A. With this model Seat broke its tradition of naming its cars after Spanish cities. The Exeo is a name that derives from the Latin word exire, meaning "to go beyond".
Based on the Volkswagen Group B7 (PL46) platform, the Exeo is a D-segment model which was almost entirely based on the "B7" generation Audi A4.
Having been launched as a four-door five-seat sedan, since 2009 the Exeo is also available as a five-door five-seat estate.
