The sixth generation of the Quattroporte was officialy unveiled in Detroit at the 2013 NAIAS. The new gen is powered by a twin-turbo, direct injected V6 and a twin-turbo, direct injected V8.

The 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 uses Chrysler's Pentastar V6 for the block, but it will be the first time that the engine will be sold in a turbocharged configuration. It will produce 404hp and 406lb-ft of torque with a top speed of 177mph and an estimated 0-60mph time of 5.1 seconds. The twin-turbo V6 will be the base engine. It will be available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The optional engine will be the 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 523hp and 479lb-ft of torque. It will be equipped with a temporary overboost function that will boost torque to 524lb-ft. The car's top speed will be 191mph, and the 0-60mph will be about 4.7 seconds. At launch, rear-wheel drive will be the only option.

Both engines will be built at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. The only transmission option for both engines will be an eight-speed automatic that weighs six pounds (2.7kg) less than the previous six-speed.

There is the possibility for hybrid or diesel engines in the Quattroporte in the future.

Quattroporte Q4

In addition to the new, four-seat Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, Maserati debuted the all-wheel drive sixth-generation Quattroporte at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Q4’s all-wheel drive system operates in two modes – Intelligent and Active. Intelligent mode is the standard and usually sends all of the power to the rear wheels. It only sends power to the front if the rears start to slip. In Active Mode, it sends power constantly between the front and rear and balances power equally.

The latest Quattroporte will be available as either a four-seat or five-seat version in all trims and is available with optional Maserati Touch Control infotainment, adjustable pedals, reverse camera and 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins stereo.

Trims

The sixth Quattroporte is available in three trim levels at introduction – S, S Q4 and GTS. Both the S and S Q4 will use the new 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 with 410hp. The only thing separating them is that the Q4 uses an all-wheel drive system. The GTS will only be available with rear-wheel drive and a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V8 with 530hp. Both engines will be built at the Ferrari factory in Maranello.

The top 530hp and 523lb-ft of torque V8 gets the Quattroporte to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and to a 307km/h (191mph) top speed, which is 20km/h faster than the current Quattroporte Sport GT S. The 410hp and 406lb-ft of torque V6 will get the Quattroporte to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds and to a top speed of 285km/h (177mph). All of the cars come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

suffered a substantial restyling after three and a half years of success in the international markets with over 24,000 deliveries in 72 countries. The updated model will be available from June 2016.

In terms of design the new Quattroporte receives a new bumper with matte black profile at the front and the matte black extractor at the rear. The front grille is more proeminent and features new vertical chrome elements. It has been fitted with an electrically adjustable Air Shutter between the air vents and the engine’s radiator which helps to improve the car's aerodynamic. has redesigned the central dashboard that now features a high resolution 8.4” screen with multi touch function. Besides the screen the dashboard also integrates a climate control and a new drawer. The new infotainment system is compatible with both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functions.   All engine options of the Quattroporte will now be sold with two trim levels: GranLusso and GranSport. This is part of a new strategy from Maserati to offer additional choice to its customers while buying the brand's flagship. The GranLusso and GranSport are immediately recognisable thanks to their distinct exterior design and unique interiors. While the GranLusso focuses on luxury, the Gran Sport focuses on giving a sporty character to the Quattroporte.   The engine range continues to be composed by the Quattroporte GTS, Quattroporte S, Quattroporte and Quattroporte Diesel. The Quattroporte GTS is powered by a 530hp 3.8-litre Ferrari V8 Twin-Turbo engine. This rear wheel drive version can reach 310km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4-7 seconds.   The Quattroporte S is equipped with a 3.0-litre Ferrari V6 Twin Turbo engine with 410hp. It is available with rear or all-wheel drive (Q4). Both versions can reach a top speed  of 286km/h, the S Q4 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, while the rear wheel drive Quattroporte S version does it in 5.1 seconds.   A 275hp 3.0-litre V6 Turbo diesel version powers the Quattroporte Diesel and can go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 252km/h.    All versions of the Quattroporte are fitted with state-of-the-art ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
