Skoda presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show its first-ever electric powered vehicle: the Octavia Green E Line concept.
The Skoda Octavia Combi was chosen as the base vehicle for the Green E Line concept as it allows an easy mounting of the batteries electronic control units and the electric engine. The Green E Line concept delivers a constant power of 60 kW and maximum power of 85 kW. The torque is is fixed at 270 Nm. The Octavia Green E Line is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in twelve seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 135 km/h (limited). The energy to drive the Octavia Green E Line is supplied by a lithium-ion battery. This power source gives the electric car a range-per-charge of 140 kilometres, which is enough to meet the requirements of most everyday commuters in Europe.
Škoda Auto has plans to create a test fleet of Octavias Green E Line in 2011 with the objective of obtaining additional information relevant to the further development of the electric drive.
