Skoda Superb (modern) (Czech Rep., 2001-present)

The Škoda Superb is a large family car and the flagship in the Škoda line-up. From 2001 to 2008 it was based on the Volkswagen Passat platform. The Superb name was originally used by Škoda between 1934 and 1942 for another large car. It was then revived for this modern luxury sedan.

The second generation Škoda Superb was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2008. It is based on a stretched version of the Octavia platform. It is available as five-door five-seat liftback saloon and as estate wagon. Being as it is based on the Octavia A5 platform, the latest Superb features transverse engine layout.
