The former MCC make evolved into the German car builder Smart, which is currently a subsidiary of the car group Daimler AG. With headquarters in Böblingen, Germany, and production facilities at Hambach, France, Smart is specialized on the production of supermini and micro cars.
The company has its vehicles sold under the all low-case trade name “smart”, insisting on the small size of their cars. Smart’s concept is to create automobiles that are slender and small enough to be easily parked frontwards in very small areas. Smart made it possible to park two or three cars in the same space where only one regular car would fit.
