Gebruder Stoewer, Fabrik fur Motorfahrzeugen  was founded by brothers, Emil and Bernhard Stoewer  in Stettin (called Szczecin since 1945), Germany,  in 1896,  to produce automobiles. In 1910, they were building cars under Mathis of Strassburg’s license. In 1916, the Company was reorganized under the name of Stoewer-Werke AG. Stoewers were very successful thanks to their high quality and endurance. Production of passenger cars was interrupted during WWII with Stoewer manufacturing cars for the German Army. When WWII was over Stoewer’s plant  was dismantled by the Russians.
