Strathcarron Sports Cars plc was funded by Lord Strathcarron in Bedfordshire, U.K., in 1996 to build lightweight cars powered by motorcycle engines. The first car was built in 1998. Only two models were produced. Due to changes in the British Single Vehicle Approval laws, the Company was forced to replace the motorcycle engine by a car engine. Financial difficulties prevented the Strathcarron Sports Cars from completing the working prototype construction and the Company closed its doors in 2001.
