The Milan National Museum of Science and Technology is staging an exhibition of 100 wood cars each penned by a different designer. The exhibit is linked to Italian toy company Tobeus that specializes in wooden toys. All of the designs will be available in limited numbers. The exhibit runs from December 5 to January 13, 2013. 

The designers were given a specific template with a given wheelbase. Beyond that, they could design whatever they wanted. Tobeus founder Matteo Ragni wanted to create toys that were durable and that his children would not get bored with easily. 

The designs range from the sleek to the whimsical. Some are simple and little more than just wedge of wood. Some take on animal shapes like rabbits, horses or giraffes. Others try to create multiple toys at once by incorporating puzzles and extra parts into the toy. One design looks like a Japanese pagoda, and one even looks like a plane. Many designers simply worked within the looks of the car with various vans, sports cars and racecars.
