It seems even cars attached to the Beatles sell well. John Lennon’s Ferrari 330GT330 GT 2+2Ferrari 330 GT 2+2Italy, 1963 > 19652 photos
sold for $540,000 in July, nearly double its estimated sale price prior to the auction. The car is expected to fetch £300,000 - £350,000 (€355,533.49 - €414,789.07 or $482,431.58 - $562,836.84).

Starr bought the car new in 1964 off the stand at the Earls Court Motor Show, and it was delivered to him in Surrey, England. He kept the car for four years before selling it.

"This car has to be one of the rarest and most collectable modern classic cars given its almost unique engineering and its place as part of pop music history,” said Sholto Gilbertson, a director in Bonhams’ Collectors Car department.

His car is one of only two 6.7-liter, manual transmission, right-hand drive models made and was the very last right-hand drive Facel II made.

At the time, the Facel Vega marketed the car as the world’s fastest four-seater with its French body and 390hp ChryslerChryslerChryslerUnited States of America, 1925 > present70 models
