head of R&D in the US says that the company is planning on bringing its number of electric vehicles up to five, from two currently.
"We haven't announced what models they will be, but we have plans for five. The others will come in due time,” said Carla Bailo.

Nissan is also working on improved inductive charging that allows cars to be charged wirelessly using electromagnetic radiation. The likely solution would have owners park their cars on a charging matt that would be plugged into the electricity supply. When the matt detects the car, it would begin giving off electromagnetic radiation to charge the battery.
Inductive charging has the benefit of only needing to be plugged in once and afterwards owners can basically forget it.
"Once that technology is ready, we will use it across our brands," said Bailo.
Nissan builds EVs in the US, China, Japan and the UK.
