Land Rover Officially Reveals Evoque Convertible

The first rumors about a convertible Land Rover Evoque was revealed on Friday, February 24. Land Rover has officially announced that the concept will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.

The convertible SUV was designed by Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern. It uses an electronically retractable soft top with a roll over protection system built into the rear head rests. Land Rover claims that the convertible top has a negligible effect on weight and rigidity.

"The Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible. This study is not a traditional convertible design execution - instead we have worked with the balance of the Evoque's lines to retain its distinctive shape and create something that is unique and, we believe, highly desirable," said McGovern.

Land Rover packed the interior of the Evoque Convertible with Terrain Response, surround cameras, parking assist and 8in touch screen.

Because the Evoque Convertible is still a concept for now; Land Rover did not discuss power for the it. However, it should be able to use any of the engines already in the Evoque.
