at the Geneva Motor Show. The new generation of the model is lighter and more powerful than before and gets a model design evolution.

In its third generation, the TT received a new more stylish exterior design while retaining the proportions, dimensions and silhouette of its predecessor. However, the new look combines more precise details on the front, sharper lines along the body, a curved roof and a rear significantly modified.

Group and has a longer wheelbase, which gives it a more spacious interior. In terms of dimensions, the new TT Coupé is 20 millimeters shorter and 8mm narrower than its predecessor, with 4180mm long and 1832mm wide. However its height has remained unchanged at 1353mm. The cargo space has also increased 13l to 305l.

In terms of design, major changes are spotted on the more aggressive front grille with six angled blades, new trapezoid-shaped headlights with more prominent interior graphics in LED, a new, more curved bonnet and a new section in the lower front bumper. In an attempt to approach the design of the TT with the R8, the four rings logo was placed on the hood.

At the rear the new TT gets more proeminent wheelarch flares and larger wheel housings that allow the use of larger diameter rims. On the sides the model is traversed by a line connecting the front to the rear lights, which Audi calls the hurricane line.

Audi managed to reduce the weight of the new TT by 50kg thanks to use of a floor made of high strength steel and cast aluminum. Moreover, much of the vehicle will be manufactured in aluminum, including the bonnet, wings, roof, doors and trunk door. The front wheel drive version has a weight of 1230kg.

To give life to the new Audi TT, the German brand has chosen a range of three four-cylinder engines and two gearboxes. The widely used 2.0 liter turbo direct injection from the Volkswagen Group is the entry version of the model and offers more power and torque than the previous generation. The engine has 230hp and and 370nm of torque in the front wheel drive version and is equipped with Audi's variable valve lift technology and a more advanced fuel injection system. The TTS version has 310hp and 380Nm of torque and reaches 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 250km/h.

The model will also be launched with a 2.0 TDI engine with 184hp and 380Nm of torque. According to Audi this version will have a consumption of 4.2l/100km, which allows it to reach a new record of emissions on a sports car, with 110g/km of CO2.

The three release versions receive a manual six-speed gearbox as standard or optional automatic dual clutch six-speed S-tronic. Both transmissions have automatic stop-start. The TT and TT 2.0 TDI get front-wheel drive as standard but can be ordered with quattro system, which comes standard with the TTS .
