facelift the Japanese brand has focused on four key areas: design, quality, performance and safety. They are expected to broaden the model's appeal to new and increasingly discerning customers in a highly competitive marketplace.

went with the introduction of new colours, trims and improvements to the instruments and controls. Except for the Entry trim, this includes a new colour TFT multi-information display in the driver’s instrument panel.

New Toyota Yaris trims

From 2017 onwards the Toyota Yaris will be available in five different trim levels: Entry, Mid, Mid+, Bi-Tone and range-topping Chic. This new strategy expects to target different customers preferences when it comes to buy a car, ranging from value for money to contemporary style and elegance. The new Mid and Mid+ trims offer the most standard options, while the new Bi-tone offers a wider choice of paintjob options. A more styling and elegant version can be found on the new Chic trim.

hasn't released many informations on the Yaris ngine range. However it has announced the introduction of a new and more efficient 1.5-litre petrol engineYaris 1.5 Dual VVT-iEToyota Yaris 1.5 Dual VVT-iEJapan, 2017 > present, which meets the more stringent Euro 6c emissions standards. With an increased output, compared to the previous 1.33 litre engine, Toyota still managed to improve its fuel economy by up to 12%.

The Yaris Hybrid has also been improved as it is one of the most important versions on the model's range, being responsible for more than 40% of all Yaris’ European sales. Engineers have introduced  new engine mounts, roll restrictor, front driveshafts and subframe which helps to reduce the car's noise. The Yaris Hybrid ride comfort and steering accuracy has also been improved thanks to adjustments to the shock absorbers and electric power steering.

Toyota Yaris increased popularity goes global

Since the introduction of the third generation Yaris back in 2011, Toyota's supermini popularity has been on a rise. Its share on the B-sgement market have increased to 6.5% with sales growing to more than 208.000 units in 2016.

That's why Toyota has decided to invest €90 million on the restyling of the new Yaris, which includes more than 900 new parts to improve the car’s design, dynamic performance and safety. The design revamp was led by Toyota's European operations and for the first time it will be adopted directly for its sister Vitz model, manufactured in Japan. This is a clear acknowledgement of Europe's expertise, strength and quality of the B-segment market.
