Toyota Sales Up 5% for the Third Quarter in Europe

Hybrid sales are growing quickly with 47% growth

is outperforming the European market so far this year with sales up 5% in the third quarter to 216,837 cars and a 5% European market share for the first time since 2009.

"Our sales performance has gone crescendo in Q3 as two key new models built-in Europe, the Auris Touring Sports and Corolla, started hitting the showrooms,” said Daniele Schillaci, Toyota Europe head of sales and marketing.

Lexus is growing slowly in Europe with sales up 2% in Q3 to 11,984 cars. Hybrid sales are up 47% for the entire year to 115,032 cars and up 20% for the third quarter to 32,764 cars. Through the first three quarters, 18% of Toyota sales in Europe have been hybrids.
