As the recently released
S65 AMG Coupé, the Cabriolet version gets the V12 biturbo 5.5 liters engine. The engine has an output of 630hp and 1000Nm of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is coupled with the powertrain and provides traction to the rear wheels, with the possibility to choose between three modes: Controlled Efficient, Sport and Manual.
Despite weighing 175kg (2180kg) more than the S65 AMG Coupé, the new S65 AMG Cabriolet retains the same capacity to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds. The maximum speed of the high-end is limited to 250km/h. This allows an average fuel consumption of 12l/100km and CO2 emissions of 272g/km.
Compared to other versions of the
S-Class Cabriolet, the S65 AMG is distinguishable by the use of chrome elements on the air vents built into the front bumpers, exclusive wheel design, the V12 biturbo badges on the sides, gloss black diffuser, four trapezoidal exhaust pipes and S65 badges on the rear.
The roof fabric can be opened on the move at speeds up to 50km/h in 17 seconds. In order to make open-top driving more comfortable, the Mercedes S65 AMG Cabriolet includes the Aircap and Airscarf technology.
