is among them, and it is taking inspiration from ancient architecture and nature for its future cars.
"Cars have been developed for just over 100 years, but nature has been evolving over millions of years," said Jaguar Land Rover R&D Boss Dr. Wolfgang Epple.
Epple’s team investigates new technologies that will be introduced in between 3.5 and 10 years.
He has been taking inspiration from construction methods at centuries-old English buildings that combine mud with wood and straw, and he says that future cars may have air bubbles in their parts to save weight.
In other ways to save weight, Jaguar Land Rover is looking into using composite parts to reinforce its aluminum chassis and trying to find ways to harness the heat the car produces and convert it to electricity.
To make up for its relatively small size, Jaguar Land Rover is creating partnerships with British universities to research cutting edge technology.
