Renault Increasing Engine Production in Brazil by 25%

knows it needs to grow outside of Europe. It has just announced that it will increase its engine production in Brazil by 25% by 2013. It is expanding its engine's factory by 5,000 square meters to boost output from 400,000 to 500,000 units.

The factory was opened in 1999 and built 335,813 engines in 2011. It has completed 2.5 million engines since opening. In addition to the engine plant, Renault also has a passenger-car plant, a light-commercial-vehicle plant in the same complex that build 280,000 units a year. They will be expanded to build another 100,000 vehicles by 2013. 

Brazil is now Renault's second largest market. It currently holds a 6.8% market share there and is trying to grow it to 8% by 2016. Its most successful Brazilian models are the DusterDusterDacia DusterRomania, 2010 > present71 versions
