Toleman was a British constructor that attended F1 races from 1981 to 1985. The company was created from the partnership between Ted Toleman and Alex Hawkridge, two F1 fans. They started working together in the 1970s and attended 70 Grands Prix. In 1984, Ayrton Senna debuted on F1 races in Toleman’s team. The following year, the team was bought by Benetton that renamed the team to Benetton Formula. In 2000, it was sold to Renault that once again changed its name to Renault F1for the 2002 season.
