In 2010 Volkswagen premiered in Leipzig the second generation of its MPV, the Touran. After 1.13 million units of the first series were sold, the Touran appeared with an updated look, following Volkswagen’s “design DNA”. The 2010 Touran offers a range of eight engines.
The second Touran generation offers three different petrol engines. The entry-level is the 1.2 TSI, a turbocharged direct-injection engine with 105 PS. With a maximum torque of 175 Newton-metres it consumes 6.4 l/100 km fuel in the combined cycle, with 149 g/km of CO2 emissions. This engine is also available with BlueMotion Technology lowering combined fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to 5.9 l/100 km and 139 g/km, respectively. The two other petrol engines were adopted from the previous model. The two 1.4-litre TSI engines have power outputs of 140 PS and 170 PS.
