Toyota unveiled the Furia Concept at Detroit giving an insight on the design of the best-selling model of all time's next generation, the Corolla, marketed in Europe as Auris.
The concept represents a design study created by Toyota designers and incorporates the priority given to the development of vehicles with a more dramatic and expressive design.
"The Corolla Furia Concept is a first indicator of the direction that our design of compact models will follow in the future" said Bill Fay, VP and general manager at Toyota. "The Furia combines a strong emphasis on dramatic design elements and modern high technology to create an attraction that will surprise many people."
The Furia was designed following the theme "Iconic Dynamism" which uses simple surface elements to create a design that will attract younger drivers. The front of the concept has an aggressive design highlighted by a black grille. The concept also received some details in carbon fiber giving it a more modern look.
