Debuted in 2010, the Toyota iQ 1.0 Zero belongs to the 1st generation of the iQ model. Powered by a 998cc engine, the version has a power output of 68 hp. The powertrain of this hatchback has been mated with a 5-speed gearbox. The car features a combined consumption of 4.4 l/100km. CO2 emissions are fixed at 99 g/km. This microcar variant is the most environmentally friendly out of the range, emitting least CO2. It has a boot volume of 32 l. Although it can be extended by lowering the back seats.

The Toyota iQ was first presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show as a concept vehicle. In 2008 at the Geneva Auto Show it was introduced and set to go into production and reach the european market in January 2009.
