The Black Turbo has a turbocharged 2.0 liter TSI engine with an output of 200hp and DSG dual-clutch transmission. The car also features equipment, usually optional with the Beetle, such as Ipod and Bluetooth connectivity, larger brakes, 18in alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and foglights.

The version is limited to 600 units and available through VW's vehicle pre-order program only. According to VW the pre-order program will also be available for the new 2.5 four-cylinder powered Beetle and TDI Beetle that are launched in Fall 2011 and 2012 respectively.
