With its history going back up to 1984, the new Jetta GLI 2012 is the most differentiated Jetta GLI model ever made by Volkswagen. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine which generates 200 hp and 281 Nm at 1,700 rpm. Volkswagen offers a choice between a standard six speed manual transmission and a six-speed DSG that features steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and rev-matched downshifts.

The main differences between the new Jetta GLI and the rest of the model’s lineup are the 17- or 18-inch wheels, the smoked taillight lenses, the revised front bumper with larger air intake, the honeycomb grille outlined in bright trim, and the four-wheel disc brakes with floating red calipers.

The Jetta GLI is available in three different trim levels: standard, Autobahn and Autobahn with Navigation.
