Volkswagen launched at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show the updated version of the Scirocco GTS.
The coupe retains the same 220hp 2.0 engine turbo used in the Scirocco standard range, but it adds a number of specific details in terms of design. Offered with a manual or an automatic dual-clutch gearbox, the Scirocco maintains an identical performance to the standard version with an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 246km/h in manual version and 244km/h in automatic version.
Volkswagen has also managed to reduce the average consumption to 6,1l/100km in manual version, while automatic transmission consumption was reduced to 6,4l/100km.
Outside the Scirocco GTS starts from the R-Line trim line, but gets new 18in alloy wheels, red brake calipers, black mirrors and an optional GTS decal. The decal includes two red or black lines painted along the bonnet and roof.
Inside, the GTS version includes several unique features such as GTS badge on door sills, steering wheel, seats and a shift lever with golf-ball knob. Red stitching on seat belts, hand brake, gearbox surrounds, armrests, floor mats and steering wheel are also part of the details of the Scirocco GTS. The dashboard has several finishes in piano black, while the window and mirrors switches are chromed.
The arrival of the Scirocco GTS marked the launch of a new, second generation infotainment system to the full range of the model.
