The second generation of the VW Touareg received a number of updates. Most importantly, from 2010 on the Touareg is also available as a hybrid version.

The 2010 Touareg also saw a weight reduction of 208 kilograms compared to its predecessor while it has more five percent of body torsion rigidity. Other main changes on the German SUV are the aerodynamics improvements. The vehicle is lowered and has a small frontal area with a style based on the new Volkswagen design DNA.

As for the powertrain, the new generation of the Touareg is equipped by two diesel engines and offers a hybrid version. All versions of the SUV are equipped with all-wheel-drive.
