Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) was founded by the Polish Government in Żerań, Poland, in 1951, to build passenger automobiles. Warszawa, named after the city of Warsaw, was the first brand produced by FSO, under license from the Russian GAZ-M20 Pobeda. Production of this brand ceased in 1973. In 1995 FSO was sold to Daewoo Motors.
