Wiesmann is a German carmaker founded in 1985 by the Wiesmann brothers. Having Enzo Ferrari as role model, after his death, Martin and Friedhelm decided to start their own company. Initially they focused on hardtops for economic stability and also to gain respect on the industry. Later on, a contract with BMW to supply drive technology came up. In 1993, the Gecko-badged company released the first Weismann roadster, fulfilling Martin and Friedhelm’s dream of manufacturing their own car.
