C. H. Wills and Company was founded by Childe Harold Wills in Marysville, Michigan, USA, in 1919. The company was reorganized in 1923 under the name Wills Sainte Claire Incorporated. The first automobile was launched in 1921. Wills Sainte Claire’s vehicles were  luxury, high endurance cars, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. They were the first automobiles fitted with back-up lights. The name came from the Saint Clair River which flowed near the plant. C. H. Wills and Company ceased activities in 1926.
