The X1 prototype was a car developed by Adrian Newey especially for Sony Computer Entertainment’s Gran Turismo 5 video game. Created using the  technology and expertise from Red Bull Racing, the X1 Prototype is a fantasy racing car that will be driven on the virtual circuits of Gran Turismo 5.

The prototype conceived by Adrian Newey is an answer to the question ‘What if you designed a racing car where the performance is not restricted by any sporting rules or regulation?'

Its forms have been forged by Polyphony Digital, a work made in collaboration with world-class racing car constructor Red Bull Racing and racing car design genius Adrian Newey. The result: the star of Gran Turismo 5.

The starting point for the development of the X1 was a low-drag, single-seat wing car with a glass canopy and covered wheels, powered by a forced induction engine.
