The Yaris Hybrid, or Prius C as it is called in the US, was revealed in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show. Toyota had already revealed that the little car would get a 100hp powertrain of a 1.5 liter, Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor that both power the front wheels.
The Yaris Hybrid has been rated in Europe at 79g/km that makes the lowest emissions from a gasoline vehicle in Europe at its launch. It comes standard with an automatic transmission and air conditioning in Europe.
Toyota did an in-depth study of the car's hybrid system, and it found that the Yaris Hybrid runs on average purely electrically 66% of time and 58% of the distance it travels.
Orders for the Yaris Hybrid begin in March 2012, and it goes on sale in Europe in May.
