The Hennessey Venom GT was introduced in 2010 and it is manufactured by Hennessey Performance Engineering. The supercar is based on a Lotus Elise and production will be limited to 5 units. Regarding the materials used, the choice laid upon carbon fibre for the body as well as for the wheels which helps to keep the car's kerb weight under 1,100kg.

Powered by a supercharged 6.2l V8 engine (which was actually also used in the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1) it has a power output of 725hp. This V8 engine is mated with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission and according to Hennessey, the car reaches a maximum speed of 440km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

The Venom GT also offers an active aero system with an adjustable rear wing that will deploy under varying conditions on the road and racetrack. In addition to that, the supercar also features an adjustable suspension system that allows the ride height to be adjusted according to speed and driving conditions.

Venom GT

Venom GT was launched in 2011. It is based on Lotus Exige but it was extensively modified by Hennessey. The combination of a light weight, less than 1100kg/2400lb, with the powerful GM 6.2l V8 engine, makes the Venom GT one of the fastest cars in the world. Announced acceleration is 2.5 from 0 to 60mph (around 100km) and top speed is 267 mph/430km/h.   more
