The 206 S Dino Spyder was presented at Ferrari's pre-season press conference in 1966.
The race car was fitted with a 2-litre V6 engine and featured a tubular steel spaceframe with aluminium and fiberglass panels.
Developed to race with the Group 4 GT, the car didn't actually compete due to the delay in its production. The race's regulation stated that the cars needed to be produced in a period of 12 months or less and Ferrari did not achieve that. So the car ended up competing as a prototype.
Recently, this 206 Dino was sold in auction by R&M Auction for €2.52 million.
