The 250 Testa Rossa was debuted at the 1957 Nürburgring 1000kms and became one of the most successful sports racing cars in the world. With the 250 TR, Ferrari won three times at LeMans, four at Sebring and two in Buenos Aires. This version finished at first place on the Le Mans tracks in 1960.
The name Testa Rossa meaning "Red Head" in italian was given due to the red valve covers of the car. The unique bodywork was developed by Scaglietti who was inspired by Formula One racers and therefore designed visually separated front fenders.
This Ferrari is one of the most valuable cars in the world. One version from 1957 was sold in auction in 2011 for $16,390,000.
Known for its design and aesthetics, the 250 Testa Rossa came to inspire the design of the Ferrari F430.
